Jeans Placemats.

Thing I learned doing this:
If you want to leave the seam for "design detail" make sure the plate doesn't "rock" on it.....Put the plate on the seam and it's very wiggly!! Oh well.

If you sew a thick ribbon in the plain field parallel to the seam? Or like you said: We live and learn...

That's pretty much what I figured! That's why the sunflower ended up on the right.

They looks great and thanks for the tip on the seam lump. Maybe you put another embroidery design in a place to make the plate stable.

I put the embroidery on the right side so I can just put the plate on the left. They are just for everyday anyway...we learn from our mistakes, for sure.
