This is my 2nd try at embroidery on balsa. I have no box to put them on yet. This design I bought from: http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/elpr... Stitches wonderfully. I did it the way he describes it to do. Less messy w/o WSS ontop however. Had no cut away stablizer so both layers on back were tear away.

Never thought of embroidering on wood. I would be too scared to wreck my machine. Now I have to watch the video. Thanks for sharing.

Watch the free video tutorial from emblibrary. Almost anything you can imagine to embroider on they have instructions for.

Thank you, yes it would. I finally found this balsa at Michaels, a huge craft store her in Canada...Alberta, anyhow. it was a piece 1/16" x 4" x 36". It cost $4.29.

I used 1/16". That was the smallest Michaels had. I heard of it couple/few years ago and wanted to try it then, but never saw the balsa that thin. * back at ya

after seeing this I want to try balsa wood. How do you keep it in the hoop

I didn't have craft adhesive spray, which I would have preferred, so I just used a craft glue stick to stick the balsa on the tear away stabelizer that goes thru the hoop...the balsa being a bit smaller than the hoop of course. The balsa I used is 1/16" Try it out, it's sew kewl. *4U
