In July my dear friend of 54 years had her 80th Birthday and I made her this gift. She has just been diagnosed with cancer and been given 6-8 weeks..I am so very upset with this news, such a terrible disease...I pray she will not suffer too much pain.

sqdancer, please accept my sincere condolences - I am so happy for you that you were able to say goodbye and that she was comfortable - they slip away but they never leave us - of coarse you know that - treasure her life and all the wonderful times that you have shared with her all these years. To keep you all up to date, Phyllis passed away quietly last night. I had spent the day with her and her daughter and had said my goodbyes. I feel she was kept comfortable and didn't suffer to much.

sqdancer, I am so sorry about your friend. This was such a thoughtful gift & I know she treasurered it. Cancer has touched my life through my Husband & Mother It is a hard thing to deal with. My thoughts & prayers are with you & your friend. A flower for you.
