Nice job, Dianne!! You'll have to tell us how you did the applique, it's a great idea. I think on a towel this shows up better, and it sure looks like water. Wonderful, a flower for you. Marji

Hi Marji and all....This is how I did it...The applique design is a separate design..I combined the fish to it..Hooped the towel and appliqued the fabric and then the design on top...you don't need any stabalizer and the underneath stitches nicely disapear into the towel...I the lay a piece of woven solvy onto the part fo the name..I hope this helps..The background fabric looks like the water..Thankyou for your comments..Dianne

Dianne, thank you for the instructions, that does help. I have seen this sort of technique an really expensive towels. Great to know how to do the same thing at home.

dianne, I really like this, I like fish alot, because I was born in February. HaHa. I understand that this is in the "Cute" designs, how wonderful to know that our host has such beautiful designs. I looked when I saw it posted that way, but couldn't find it, is the applique part of the design? A flower for you. loretta

Loretta, I hope dianne can tell us exactly how she did this, but no, the applique is not part of the design. I would guess she embroidered onto batik quilt material, then used the fancy stitches in her sewing machine to do the applique. Let's hope she tells us! Marji

Wow, I had no idea - that the background was part of the design - I guess that is what I was looking ar more than anything else - how it made it look like water - I guess that was just the material that you used. Thank you.!
