This is for my son's girlfriend. She's practically part of the family by now so she gets her own personalized stocking. The D is from the Snowflake Font here on Cuteembroidery. The rest of the name is from a built in font in my Brother machine. I trimmed some of the fur and may trim more if it keeps covering up the name. I used sticky tear away stabilizer on the back and a heavy WSS on top of the fur. I did the D by itself and then re-hooped to do the rest of the name so I could fit it in the 4x4 hoop. It may have been easier to do if I had opened the stocking up but I managed to work my way around the small opening.

I love your choice of materials and alphabet. You're sweet to include your son's girlfriend--might she become a daughter-in-law later? Thanks for showing us all your lovely projects.

We can only hope :) They have been together for 3 years and he gave her a promise ring.

This is very nice - and I had done something similar when my GS dated his wife for so long prior to the wedding. She was always with us for Christmas, so she had her stocking too. Good job.

It looks like Christmas! I love the font you used. You never know what they really look like until someone uses them and i really like this one.I'm sure he will love it and have to fill every Christmas from now on. Nice work sewmom, thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks Lee. He was so excited that he asked if it had to be a surprise or not. I said it did not have to be a surprise and he took a phone picture and sent to her already. She loves it.

Another tip for small openings. Mark where you are going to put your design on the outside and be sure to mark the top so you don't get mixed up. Turn the item inside out to do the embroidery. Stick the item on the hoop as close to the edge as possible and pull or fold away the edges as much as possible. Pin them back if you can. I found that I couldn't pin all the way to the edge of the hoop because I had to allow the fabric to pull up off the hoop a little on the edges.
