when doing washcloth or small designs, I start from the bottom working my way up, when do the first one, just fold it foward and get it out of the way, do the next one and mosst of the time even a third designs, on a hoop like mine 5x7 i can easely do 6 washcloth, I had cut the stabilizer about 1 inch wider that what I need after doing my six washcloths I removed de stabilizer from the hoop, then put it back on the hoop and do another 3...will show you some pictures, it is hard to understand, but if you try it it will save you lots of time, stabilizer and mainly $$$$.

I bought the 59" (I think) wide and cut strips to fit my hoops, then I don't cut it into pieces, just hoop the free end and let the main bulk off to the side on the table. And move whatever I'm doing as far right as I can, saving a lot.

We all need to economize when we can. When I have several things to do like this, I will move my design to the very bottom of the field, and that allows me to do move the designs up and work with them that way, and uses less stablizer. Thanks for sharing Maria.

Good idea. I always save my left over pieces to reuse if possible. Sometimes to float under the hoop when needed, but I am a pack rat by nature so keeping everything comes easy. The hard part is throwing stuff away. Kay
