I love that it is on linen. Beatiful job I can see why it has a blue ribbon! Contrats! At our fair several years ago, there was a cross stitch Monopoly board on adia cloth that took 1st place over some beautiful work on linen, I was so shocked and could not believe they did not have REAL judges of handwork judging at the fair! Peggy
Thanks Peggy, I know what u mean, I have seen some work that I wondered if the judge was a relative or not LOL *
This is absolutely beautiful; the fall colours make the picture pop. I can see why it took so long to do, there's a lot to do on it. Oh my, I bet your as pleased as punch & should be very proud of your achievement.
Thank u migs. This I am proud of & it goes to my oldest daughter because she is the first one to take me to the Biltmore House. *
Awesome. You did a wonderful job on this. Thanks for sharing.
This masterpiece was worth every stitch Lillian, well done on a super job!
Lillian, you do such a wonderful work! It's amazing! Well done!
thank u Yoriko. I have arthritis in my hands so sometimes it's difficult. I don't do near as much cross stitch as I use to. Now it's machine embroidery most of the time, but I still like doing things with my hands. *
Lillian, this is stunning, Congratulations - Hugs Yvonne
This is beautiful. I used to do a lot of cross stitch. I must get out one of my kits and start on it. It is very relaxing to me to cross stitch. Congrats on the blue ribbon. Mildred
This wasn't a kit Mildred. I bought the design at the Biltmore gift shop, then bought threads elsewhere if I did not already have them. *4U
Lillian, this is a work of art and I am happy to see it in cross stitch - I would love this in machine embroidery whether cross stitch or regular - I love this place and will miss going to it. No wonder you got a blue ribbon for it. *4U
I love going there also shirlene especially at christmas, since the girls usually take me somewhere for my birthday. I'm going to ask for biltmore this yr. I bought the design n their giftshop but don't think they have it anymore. *4U
Excellent Lillian, well deserved, you must have been stitching away for along time to have this completed in 3 months, I love cross stitch, my father n law was excellent at this and tapestry. ****4u
Wow, Miss Lil, that is amazing. Congratulations and you certainly deserved the Blue ribbon.;)
Looks great and great framing also. For those of you who don't know this was one of the Vanderbilt's homes at the turn of the 20th century.
Thanks Kay I love the house in spring but christmas is absolutely marvelous & hope to get up here this christmas. *
That was quite an undertaking. I have not done hand work in so long - don't know if my eyes could stand it. Well done.
