Kay, just call it your Décolleté design and wear it. It looks lovely.;)
Kay I always mark where I want the center of design with one of those vanishing markers or even a piece of chalk. when the design is n hoop I make sure the needle is exactly over that mark before beginning the embroidery. This always works well for me. I don't think anyone is really going to notice u r slightly off center, as for mono that is your choice. *
Katydid, it is always hard to judge the posititon and in fact if you have it straight or not. Then you have the problem of getting it right in the hoop. I print out a work sheet of the design from Wilcom truesizer as it gives you the starting points in the center of the design etc. I put a pin in the center of the design and mark it with the eraseabel pen when I have it lined up, I also put marks at the ends of the design so I can line it up in the machine and if that neckline was open in the hoop and flaping around,I would hoop the stabalizer and use double sided tape and tape it around on the stabalizer that is in the hoop. Dont hoop the fabric just use the tape around the edge to stick it down, it works well. It looks good and I do like the butterfly idea.
Kay your shirt looks ok and at the end of day the only person that you need to worry about is the person you are doing it for. good work anyway.
katydid, if you find that there's to much space between the design and the neckline you may think of adding a couple of small butterflies, it would fill in the space.
IT LOOKS GOOD JUST LIKE THAT. NOT MANY WOULD KNOW THAT IT WAS MEANT FOR A NECKLINE.
Kay, I like it - but if you feel it would better suit you or the person that you stitched it for - to have the monogram - then stitch it - *4U
