This is a burp cloth that I made for a customer. It is an appliqued lamb, with button and ribbon roses sewed on. Too cute...

I make burp cloths out of diapers. I pre-wash them and add a corordinating print to both ends about 2" wide. They absorb nicely and embroider well. I also made ones shaped like an egg timer (I got the pattern free off the internet) out of flannelette, double sided. They matched the receiving blankets I made and embroidered a fancy stitch around the outside edge.

Well when I make burp cloths, I use a guest towel and embroider on it, fits well on the shoulder as well, no other sewing needed. ( I have done some for cutomers also on toweling nappies, but I think they are abit to big)- Hope this helps you - hugs Yvonne
