Well - I am back to my lace. I don't have the time to do everything that I want to do, but here is my first lace project for the year. This is the SD364 Peacock Doily from Stitch Delight. It consists of 26 different panels in two designs, for a total of 425,035 stitches. I used the Metro thread on this one, in the color 1907 - which is a very lite bone. I wanted it to look more like something Gramma would have done.

Stunningly beautiful....this is the type of doily my mom used to make. Be selfish...she'll never know the difference if you don't tell her, besides we need to do some of our projects for ourselves...
besides this is to lovely to part with....great work!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to look at this design, and for your lovely comments. I had about decided to take it to my sister-in-law when we visit this weekend, but I think this one has my name on it. Am I being selfish? I gave her one of my favoirites the last time she was here, and have not redone it for myself. Maybe later - I have too many pretty things I want to make.

Not selfish at all - you can stitch her up something else later on. I know you want to cheer her up - but this one does have your name on it.

Beth, dear one, this is so beautiful and it does remind me of my dear mother-in-laws work. She loved to crochet these sort of doilies. This is big and so very wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
