I haven't posted a project in awhile...been bizzzzy! I've been on a string of craft shows for the past 7 weeks...I'm set up right now for my last two day event at a school, participating in a Secret Santa Shop for Preschool through 12th grade kids. Eventhough they love my "leftovers" from my shows, I wanted to do a few things just for them. I found these cute...and made nice, too....headbands at the dollar store last week. I thought they would look cute with a gingerbread head! So that was my game plan...and I think they turned out cute. I held back two for a couple nieces, but the rest will go on my table in the morning. Should have been there selling today, but we have been blasted with snow this week and the school was closed. It's just a good thing that we took a "snowday" into consideration when we scheduled the Santa Shop! Now we will sell tomorrow and Friday.

What absolutely adorable headbands you've stitched. I'd imagine that these will be a hit with the girls & maybe a few others buying for a friend or their sister. Please let us know how the sale goes. Thanks for sharing your project& God's blessings. :~D

Kim, these are adorable - how did you do them - did you have a design for a applique gingerbread or what? Good luck - can't wait to hear how well you did. Shirlene

thanks, Shirlene....
I had the applique design for the gingerbread, not sure where I got it though. They were done on a fleece headband...gingerbread done in felt. I omitted the satin stitch, as I really didn't need it and looked cute without it also. They were quick to stitch out without that satin outline! Also, forgot to stitch the nose's...but that's ok, didn't really like it anyhow. I'm back from my first day...the sale is going quite well and the kids are having fun going through all my stuff! One more day to go...then I can put it all away and do what "I" want to do for a change!

The kids bring in $$ to buy for thier family. The school sends home a note with details...and the parents check off who they are to buy for and approx how much they are to spend per family member. Then they come in with the slip of paper and money in an envelope and shop! I give good deals...if they don't have quite enough $$ for an item, I will still let them have it for whatever they have to spend. Last year, I provided a whole family gifts for the $6.00 that the little boy had in his envelope. It's a good way for me to clear out some of my Christmas stuff left over from shows...but in the long run, the kids are the winners as they get wonderful prezzies for family, friends, teachers at a good deal!

What fun that should be - both for you and the kids. I wonder if they have something like that at the schools around here. My grandkids go to school in a different county, but they are loder though too.
