This is a scarf for my sister who lives in California. This is done on black silk doupioni, with metallic bobbin threads. This is done with a design called digibob, which is bobbin work. The design is stitched, an the actual design is pulled from the bobbin. I have to have a special bobbin case to do this, and have not done it more than twice, I don't think, but like the results. I serged the edges of the scarf, and this was a relatively easy project, and looks quite rich, I think. Sorry that the colors do not come out well, but the thread is a peacock color, and I used crystals to accent.

Beth, this is lovely and I know your sister will be proud to wear it. What is this special sort of bobbin called? Great work.

Shirlene - it is really a special bobbin case because you don't want to mess with your machines bobbin case. You have to treat the bobbin thread differently, and it is not pulled through as you normally would. It was tricky, and I have only done it in a class - but, have done another project or two.
