I don't usually use fine fabrics as I have a tension problem with my machine which ends in puckering and pulling up which I don't know how to correct. I found some firm taffetta like fabric to practice the butterfly from the machine's memory. I was pleased with the result and went onto use a soft satin (top card), I resized to maximum which made the stitching less dense.I hooped with 1 layer of tear away stabiliser and am pleased with the overall result.

They look great. I've not yet made cards but want to try it out.
When I use fine fabrics I just hoop the stabiliser and then spray with spray adhesive and stick the fabric on top. This seems to work well

This is lovely. wtg There are so many reasons for designs to pucker. The less stitches there are, the less chance of puckering. That is the way you solved this problem. So, I won't think the puckering was due to a bad needle. It might be the type of stablizer for the fabric and design you are working with. There are just so many variables. Happy stitching. :-) I love the butterfly.
