My grand daughter had asked me a puncho pink and white with an aerplane and an elephant. I have knitted it with big wool and big needles, and the stitch seems to me too slack to make embroidery directly on it, I have done the embroidery on "polar"cloth, and after I have sew on the knit. It is not perfect, I hope that you could give me better idea

Looks great to me, at least with the patch it can be removed if your gd decides she wants something other than the airplane and elephant... great idea I think..

I think that worked very well. You can embroider directly on it, but it becomes very bulked up with stabilizers, so I think the "patch" works much better. It is a beautiful pancho.

Lovely garment! Just what my granddaughter would like. What size did you make those panels? The fringe looks great as well. As for the embroidery, I too think your idea of appliqué is the only one that would work on this.

I can't find anything wrong with it. Usually when someone says that there is something wrong, I will spot it. I figure that your granddaughter won't see a thing wrong. She will see that it was made with love and feel wrapped in grandma's warms arms when she wears it. You did great work. :-)

Looks like that worked well. I don't thing it would have worked to sew directly onto the knitted yarn.

Very beautiful workmanship! Love the "girly" colors. Embroidery designs turned out very clear and distinct. I love it! (and so would my Grandaughter)

I think it's beautiful, Claude! You do very nice knitting, as well. I do think the large knit would be too hard to embroider on, I don't know how you would stabilize it well enough. I think the 'patches' you have made look good, and the designs on the white background show up well that way. Beautiful job! Marji
