I designed and stitched this for the village chapel bicentenary. The main picture in the middle is of the chapel (which is tiny!) and it's surrounded by pictures of the local wildlife; below the text are local landmarks - a 13th century tower, the parish church and the lighthouse - and the bottom rows represent the estuary our village stands on. It took me ages to stitch out and it's now come back to me because sadly the chapel closed last month because of dwindling congregations (I chose the text because at the time, the avarage congregation was five, including the lady who played the harmonium!) Can't wait to try machine cross-stitch! Love from Dianne x x x

that is very nice Dianne, what a shame the chapel closed. You never know it might re-open again one day.
I also did years of hand embroidery,do try the machine ones. It is just amazing how good they are and so quick as we know how long it takes by hand.
bye
