This a Quilt I made for my Niece's 21 st birthday. She loves Purple. The Layout is from "Jenny Haskins- the Colour Purple" I made all the lace pieces to put on the Quilt. I was picky and choosy on what designs were to go on it . Looked through books and then decided to take what I like from 3 books-including The Colour Purple. She was wrapped. Now I had to make her another one for her Wedding, as a 6 ft 3 inch Bridegroom would look silly under a "purple flowery and lacey" One.

Thanks Gayle. Yes it took a few mmonths, but then I made all the lace , didn't make enough then I made too much, then I made the mofits didn't like them soooo that is where the time went. All a practice as I just went along with the flow. Each block took a couple of days .did all the block before I went on hols and came back to finish it. Love doing this as it really gives your creative side a lift

It's a beautiful quilt! How long does it take to make one of those? I really never seen one of these, so I think that you put a lot of work on that. Beautifully done, Roslyn!

roslyn by roslyn 16 Nov 2008

thank you Manami. I couln't tell you how long probably about 2 months. The lace took a while as I had to decide what to use where and how much. I did more than I needed so that time was sort of wasted. Each block took about a day and a half. As there was fancy stitching around the edges of the design. So while I was doing that , the other machine was embroidering either the lace or flowers.

Thank you flower for you too. It took me ages to decide what to use. The designs were Sue Box Butterflies and then I browsed thru flowers and came up with some from Cactus punch and Husgvarna Brother and then I went into Windows Explorer and got some "Wing Dings" and used them too. The embroidery wasn't too bad - BUT finding just the right design BOY I went grey overnight I think. I really enjoyed doing this one. So much so I had previously started one for myself in antique White with Pastel flowers and pale green. Post it later. so many designs and so much to do???
