This is quite striking. You chose great colors. This reminds me of relief quilting. Only instead of cutting you burn the fabric. This will be such a nice purse. You are so talented. My free motion would never look like anything. :-) *4u

Al right.I know technique involves layering material sealing material with soldering iron and burning some places out. What I would like to know is can U use any matte rial or just polyester , rayon or organza.Do you layer material as for Mola appliqué.Do you burn through few layers or only one.
It is a lovely project.*4u

It is simply stunning but I would burn myself or set something on fire, I remember well my woodburning fiascos, I'll have to stick to sewing, quilting & embroidering. *4U

This is beautiful , I saw something like this on The PBS TV show Quilting arts. Do you sandwich two fabrics with pieces of fabrics in between ? Let us know how you did this. A flower for you.

This looks great, Adali. What is it? Is it a type of applique?Maybe reverse applique? Love the colours. Ricky.

No.It isn't applique. It's free motion quilting then burnt.

mpo14011 by mpo14011 10 Aug 2008

OK. I know what free motion quilting is but what is "burnt"?
