This was a test stitch out for my grandson. I am going to put it on a shirt back for him to wear to his karate class. He is going for his 2nd degree black belt, and instructs the little ones during the week. I had to re-size the design to fit my larger hoop, and did this stitch out on the back of a t-shirt that I picked up for a $1.00. He wanted it on a black shirt, but I do not feel that the flame would show up the way it should. Any suggestions on how to do this on black?

Wow!! 2nd degree black belt, My G. sons were into Karate when they were younger, & I remember all the different belts they went through. You have done a nice job *4U

Thank you all for your comments, and 100pandas for showing us with the color variation. I love this design, and it is a pretty intense design. *** to you all.

It looks great, I think making the flames dark gray will work just fine.

it's great, and like some others suggested already, I should change the dark flames into orange/red if it's rembroidered on black.Where did you get this design, can you remember, I love it!

Only one way, do the flame in brilliant red, awesome. I'll change the colour for you and upload a pic in community if you'd like. hugs, Meg

Meganne - you are such a sweetie. I have software to change the colors, but when I changed the black to red you could not see the tigers face details at all. The black is stitched out first on this design, then the other colors are added. This design has about 55,000 stitches.

I find on white the contrast is the nicest. But on black will be also nice. I would take instead of black thread, perhaps, a COMPLETELY DARKNESS FROM LILAC (almost black). Then the desired lighting effects are there. I have also had similar problems and with the dark mauve colour I have solved it. The result was satisfactory.

It is such a mesmerizing design. Any boy would love to have it. Too bad he doesn't want it on a red shirt. *4U

My this is great - I remembered getting this one and wondered when I got it - what I would do - as I wanted to put it on black and noticed that I could just change the color of the flames so easily - let us know how it turns out and what you end up doing to get it that way.

Make it one of the white tigers. Their strips are a light gray. Should show up on black. May need to put something behind the white face so the black shirt doesn't show thru.

I thought of that, but when I change in my software it made the face disappear. The black flames are stitched first, and are actually some of the stripes of the face. I may have to play with that though
