52676You are fortunate to have a back up. My back up machine, Bernina 185, is so old that I am not sure I can get a design transferred from my laptop to it. You have to use a cable or a reader card and magic box is obsolete. It does not have a USB port, but it does sew quite beautifully so I use it for sewing. You know , you may have been wise to hold on to your embroidery machine instead of trading it in. last year I missed stitching Mother's, Father's Day and 4th of July because my machine was in the shop. I don't mess with the bobbin tension on my Ellisimo, but frequently change the top tension depending upon the thread, fabric or design...it is very easy to set it back to the "default" for the machine so you really can't mess it up...
