I wanted to make some no sew fleece dog coats for rescues in the area, so I was trying to make a drawn pattern, but didn't have paper big enough, so Jim to the rescue.....he suggested I make a pattern on my digi software and stitch it out and by using cutaway stabilizer the pattern is nice and rigid....I plan on using my snaps instead of velcro on the neck and round the belly...once I get some made I will show them under the crafting section as it won't be embroidery (am using printed fleece) or sewing...don't know if any others would be interested in doing the same, will put them on my website if there is a call for it......

Maria, the smallest fits a 10x6 hoop........I suppose one could split the design to fit a smaller hoop? I elongated the neck strap when I cut mine out to accommodate a larger neck on some of them.....

I think they are fabulous! Would love to have it. I suppose that as with any pattern, one might have to tweak it a little to fit one's dog, but I'm such a ditzy lady that I'd have no clue as to where to start. So, yes, I need a pattern!

Don't worry Penny, you are not the only ditzy one. I also need patterns for everything

These are great Vicki. It is a very similar pattern to a coat I made for Keenu. He hates it as having much fur it gets caught in the Velcro. I am actually sending his coat to Pug Rescue this week with some blankets I have embroidered today. Give Jim a pat on the back for his idea.

You betcha.......that is why I thought of putting snaps....may be less of a chance of catching fur in it.......

I use velcro on the neck area but, I find that some good soft elastic works best under the dog. Once you get the right fit you use it over and over. I love to double fleece pieces for winter, and a plastic coated fabric works great for rain.

My daughter is always looking for coats for her labs. They hate the cold weather. Will have to look. Thank you.

Thanks.....I like the fact that the pattern isn't going to fall apart after a few uses........and I like have the instructions stitched on it permanently......
