I took a class and made this also. Stitched it on linen. Took a long time.
Looks great! Too many hours to doubt the fabric!
beautiful. Good work. Hugs, Gail
What a lovely doily and such fun to make ****i use the white fabric a chiefs apron is made out of ***You can buy it in many colors
Most excellent work hugs Carolyn
thank you Carolyn
I think it looks beautiful, well done. I love these doilies, but have never made one! Love Chris
It is very pretty, I use linen or linen polyester stiffened with starch before I do my embroidery. I also check out the curtain department for materials I usually can get a heavy fabric which is ideal for embroidery.
a good idea with the strength . I 'll try ceiling at the next .
Such pretty work!!!!Stunning
Lovely. Is there supposed to be something wrong with it---was reading comments. I can't find anything wrong----Just looks beautiful.
Lovely doily...did you prewash your fabric?
yes I did . many say one to pick cotton , 25 percent polyester . thank you
It is absolutely beautiful.
This is very pretty!~hugs~
Do you sew the pieces and then attach to the fabric or embroider right on the fabric?
It is beautiful.
then attached to the fabric .
Oh I think you did a lovely job. Will it not press out flat with steam iron and pressing cloth. I'm wondering if perhaps the fabric shrunk a little when you wet the WS stabilizer to dissolve it. I think I would have chosen a med weight tear away stabilizer /Lillian
Lillian , I wash it and then I let everything dry . Then I sew everything together .
Wow it looks fantastic!
I like your doily, the design is beautiful. I use cotton and water soluble stabiliser.
thank you, that I also do , but it distorts the sew .
I wondered how cotton would do, can you use serger thread?
