At our latest UPP we were able to work on the embroidery bears. I found that they were easiest to do with Karen's 4x4 hoop, but I will not be defeated. With a little creativity, and "Sticky Plus" I was able to squeeze a little bear in my Singer 5X7 as well.

Really cute and I'm sure the finished bear didn't mind at all LOL

Well, this is sort of like Botox for Bears, I guess, hee hee hee. I'm glad the little bears have short memories, and enjoy looking good & being loved when you're done with them!

I just ordered some of these, are they easy to do?

Yes as long as your hoop is small enough. I used a 5x7 and had to get creative with my hooping. I used Sticky Plus to hold it down because the hoop was to big. Although it worked I had to watch it.

These were the 14 " bears. As the head hit the back of the machine the chest tried to lift. A larger design would not have done so well. Good Luck with yours!

Great idea... I am looking to embroider bears too. Where did you find an embroideable bear? I am looking both in Europe and in Canada-USA. Thanks and flowers! Pat

Embroidery.com you can search under Embroidery Bears.
These were the 14". I think the 20" would be easier to hoop. My smallest hoop was a 5X7 I had to use stick plus instead of hooping.

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely look at those. Flowers!

Much better, otherwise it would have to be reported to the RSPCC, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children..

That does remind me of my refrigerator magnet though. It says "Good Mother's let the children lick the beaters, Great Mothers will turn the mixer off first.

Looks very cruel, but it's the result that counts. Hopefully this bear has a very short memory or he'll scream every time you come close to your grandchildren. Thanks for showing and making us all have the giggles.

You are very welcome. We should always feast on sewing (that is why he is on the breakfast bar) and have a grand size dish of the giggles for dessert.

I did one of them for my DGS but the head was hanging off the machine toward the front and I must admit, I was beginning to feel nervous the way he was smiling at me the entire time!;)

That would have been a sight to see. I think I would cry. It is easier when you can't see the cute litte faces. Although the view from the back seemed a little gruesome. *4U
