Basket

I had to make an oblong one. It is just right for my fountain-pens (I've quite a few of those).

Tutorial for the square one can be found here: http://seaside-stitches.blogspot....
If you want an oblong one you can draw it using the measurements of your finished basket. It is really easy. see http://www.cuteembroidery.com/956...

Looks great, and I'm glad you were able to get the right shape for your purpose. I agree with "justsew" - that is really thinking outside the oblong box!!!

It was more a case of thinking outside that square box. :)

I use that shape for fabric strips.

mops by mops edited 17 Feb 2014

It is too large to start with and you would have to do the corners afterwards anyway. And it really does not take that long, unless you have to sew strips together :)
