I have nearly used up all my stash of white ,cream & beige hand towels. Over Easter I thought I would be able to stock up again because of the sales offering 40%- 60% off linen but I found that they were still $6 - $12 after the discount & they had shrunk in size too.

Does someone know where to buy hand towels in pale colours , 40cm x 65cm for less than $4 in Australia? The ones I had were $2 - $2.50 each & were that size or larger. It seems prices have gone up & towels have shrunk in size & quality, & are made in Asia.

What state are you in? Cheap as Chips has an assortment of Hand Towels they are in Aust and used to do online orders but I see they have closed that part but you can still go on line and check them out. Maybe they are close to you?

Thank you .NSW. Found some brightly coloured 40 x 65 cm (platinum collection )hand towels in the Reject shop for $4 which just have a fancy hem & are all towelling & are reasonably thick .I washed them in cold water & the colour didn't come out but they shrunk a bit ,now 40 x 62.5 cm

I checked out Cheap as Chips but the stores are in Vic & SA with one in Broken Hill which are about 1000 kms or so away.Other Cuties might find this helpful.

Found a "Bonanza" at my local Stockland mall. You know the people that have stall type shops, one here at Wetherill Park has a guy selling sheets for $20 per set and the biggest hand towels I've seen for only $2 I am going back tomorrow I'll see if he has a business card he might do phone or internet orders.. Let you know how I get on. Marian

I do not have a source for quality towels. I agree with you totally.

I have found they are hard to find also. Lincraft used to have quite large ones and in white and cream but they no longer have them so I will be in the same boat when I use all of mine up.

Lincraft closed down before Xmas last year & the other one isn't in a convenient location.

Check out Big W sets of 2 for around $4 and Best and less has sets of 2 for $6. Just about everything is now made in Asia so you have very little choice.
The light colours are getting harder to get especially baby colours. I am having trouble myself even finding chocolate brown.

Wish you were in the US. I watch Kohl's for their sales & get mine there...but that doesn't help you! I agree with you about size

Our dollar is worth about 76 cents US so the savings might not be great but I do read the local papers & junk mail looking for bargains.

I'm finding increasingly harder to find any pale colours or plain white, it seems dark colours are in now.. but we can't give in they have to be somewhere..

I avoid dark colours because over the years I have found the dye keeps on coming out in the wash even though I wash in cold water & the offending item has been washed dozens of times.Pink & green clothes are not popular thankfully the colour washes out in the next wash.
