Keeping it legal: this can be a challenge for those of us innocent cuties who are more interested in creativity than heaps of legal jargon (and who might think that just because something is readily on offer or even free, it must be legal), and it seems there is even more to it than just copyrights these days, with us also needing not to infringe on publicity and privacy rights, so the basic "plain English" info on the web site called www.publicdomainsherpa.com might be worth browsing through for a quick education. While the word embroidery is not mentioned there, I think most of the rules covered would apply to all artistic creativity, including embroidery. Here are a couple of links to pages that I found quite interesting. None of us are infallible, but we all do need to keep trying to be careful when it comes to legalities.

Given the recent Mickey on a usually legal site, I Googled it's copyright and found the Copyright Extension Act on Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copy... Many sites and folks use the old dates / years. It was updated in the U.S. for longer terms.
