I have one and use it a lot. It came with 4 magnets and I bought the set of 4 more at the same shop I bought the hoop. I like to use two of the extras in the middle of the long side. The only drawback: when you cut jumps the scissors are caught by one of those powerful magnets, the more so when you use all 4 extras.
i usually wrap the stabiliser over the edge and put two magnets at the back to hold it in place, then put my fabric on top, secure it with 4 manets and the remove the two from the back. To prevent pull I use those two in the middle of the 7" sides.
Before I bought the extra set of four I used a couple of fridge magnets. they were right to temporarely secure the stabiliser but in no way strong enough to help secure a quilt.
Here's what the frame looks like now can someone show me where to buy more magnets???
This is very similar to the 'Magna Hoop " That Eileen Roche sell on various sites including Ann the Gran. I think she has replacements magnets sets which would work fine with your hoop. I bought 2 sizes of these a few years back and did use them a lot for a while and gradually went back to my regular hoops. I rarely hoop anything any more as I think it is easier to position the items and no hoop burn. I just hoop the stabilizer. The plastic grid is a must!!! Kay
Sounds interesting. Show us a photo. It's OK to post that. Kay
have a friend who has it and she loves it, I have it on my wishlist
have fun with it,
hugs
I have it and love it. I've used it to machine quilt a quilt. You don't have to do so much hooping. I did buy extra magnets. It is surprising how well it holds the fabric in place. Just remove magnets and reposition. I just did a small pillow cover with it and worked well.
so how many magnets do u have ??Or how many should i buy???How many come with it???
