I make quilts for the local Hospice for cancer patients. The families then get to keep them as a keepsake after the person has passed on
I had a girlfriend do the same thing and give hers to me. I finished them and my granddaughter got one and the other two went to the local blanket drive 7 years ago!

Well brighter days are here now that you have rid yourself of the millstone around your neck. What we do is suppose to be F U N and enjoyable. My youngest daughter is the worlds worst about starting things, not liking then bringing to me. Sometimes I like and finish it., sometimes I see something else I can make of it and do. Sometimes I save parts I can use out of it and sometimes I just trash it. Well done Carolyn!. Find something else you really love to make and have at it. Hugs Lillian .
Carolyn, if you live in the states there is a place you can donate all the quilt tops you want and they finish them to give to the needy and homeless. I'd be happy to get the info to you or anyone else interested. Thanks, Meri
Maybe we should start one of those UFO exchanges. I have a few pieces myself.
I actually like this idea!?! LOL! I have several UFO's that I will never finish. One my daughter started and than proceeded to outgrow. That's when she gave it to me to finish. Why wait until after you've outgrown it???? So I've had that blouse for at least 10 years, lol! I have other items too, like two bins worth, lol!

Well this was a first for me i can honestly say i finish what i started but this***It must be old age???lol
I would say well done. Sometimes things just are not meant to be. I am sure that you will come up with a new project very soon. You put us all to shame. Hugs to you Carolyn.
Oh, Carolyn...this makes me sad...perhaps there is a local quilt guild that you could contact and they could finish them and donate them to one of the non-profits they support...I know they would probably be thrilled to get them...
yes the Sally Anne will do something with them i just can't lol
don't be sad it will all work out hugs
I hate that. But force myself to do it. Most of the time.
Well Done, Carolyn,
Greener pastures await you.:-)
Enjoy the next project.
Regards
Nicky
Yippee, it is done and gone. Kudos to you for finishing it. Now on to stitching a pretty doily.
That is the way I feel about doing Taxes. Too bad I can not toss the paperwork.
Carolyn I am sure there would be a organisation available that would take your quilt tops happily. My quilt group in church for instance makes quilts for all kinds of non profit organisations. Have fun with whatever happy project you picked next.
I've been working on a bag for a cousin since *before* Christmas...... same feeling..... I keep telling myself since I already have so much time & energy into it (project should have taken just a few days to complete...) I *should* finish it.
Well bag it i did lol Mine will likely end up at the Salvation Army thrift store heheh
It's more fun to make something you want to rather than something you have to. Give it away and don't look back. Now on to better things.
Absolutely! I have tossed projects as well. You feel guilty not doing them, you try to do them, you hate doing them, you feel guilty...round and round it goes! I agree, tossing or donating them is the best thing to do, very liberating ;-)
