Hello all. Can anyone tell me which is the best digitizing programme to buy. I have never digitized before and would love to be able to do so. Has anyone used Creative drawings. Thanks

Wilcom is used by professional digitizers throughout the world and they have trade in offers for your old/home software

I bought Creative Drawings several years ago and absolutely hated it, to the point I removed it from my pc. As far as I am concerned I wasted my money and would never recommend it as it is very automated, expensive and upgrades are also expensive judging by the newsletter emails I still receive.
In my honest opinion Embird is still the best value for money, most versatile and best supported digitising program available for both beginners and more experienced digitisers.
You can download the full program for a trial period (with some limitations) then purchase each module's license individually as you need them. There are dozens of free tutorials available online as well as many Cuties who can help you get started.
I have recommended Embird to many people over the years and I have never heard a negative comment about it.
Hope this helps,
Meganne (Melide Menschen Designs)

Thanks for the information, I saw creative drawings at a craft show, looked good( if you know what you are doing) I left my details with them and have heard nothing) Embird looks best to me. I am guessing Embird Studio is the one to get. I tried downloading the free trial, but I can't download it. Have watched a few videos on embird. Is studio 2015 the one to buy. Thanks

you need to download Embird Basic first, the other modules won't work without it, so Basic plus Studio. And I would advise to add Font Engine too.

I don't know this software, so I had a look at their site and checked the tutorials. I watched a vey lengthy one and noticed it converts clipart to embroidery automatically and then offers an array of tools to edit, which seem to do a very good job. It means deleting what you don't like and then digitising manually the parts to fill the now open spaces anew. I'd much rather digitise manually from the start. But have a look at a number of videos, there are quite a few on you tube, and see what you think.

you might look at tutorials for other software as well and decide what you like best. Clipartopolis has videos for different brands under their University tab.
Personally I prefer Embird, I own that as well as 6D Premium. I think Embird is easier to work with - and far less expensive.

Martine it converts its own special format of clipart better than normal clipart but it is very cumbersome getting a decent design out of the program and the cost of upgrades is exorbitant. I certainly couldn't afford to pay for any of the upgrades which may have improved it and made it more useful. It isn't a patch on Embird

Glad you could give user information, and I am sorry for the money you had to spend on Creative Drawings. It did not look at all pleasant to work with to me, but that was just one 60 min tutorial - I stopped after 40 min, amazed at the number of tools he had to use to clean up the auto-digitised design. Not a beginner's job!
I have spent a fortune on keeping my Husqvarna software up-to-date. And as you know Embird is my favourite as well, I would not want to be without it.
