I may just be a romantic but I really think that most husbands, if the money is available, they really do want to see us have the things that make us happy, whether the machines are just to help us create projects just for friends & family or may even help us to earn added income using the sewing skills we already have, and add to those skills, the skills we will learn through the course of having an embroidery machine. These embroidery machines really do open up a whole new universe of creative energy!

When we are happy it makes a loving husband's heart swell, especially when they know it was them, who put the smile on our faces and they will see that smile over and over each time we create a new item.

Add me to the group of cuties who have a wonderful husband who was instrumental in me getting my first embroidery machine now almost 10 years ago.

He brought me in to surprise me and was planning on a basic serger and as he saw just how much difference there was in the basic machines, compared to the higher end machines. He was also trying to get me machines that would help me be able to sew and embroider even with my progressive medical conditions. I have always loved sewing and needlework and my medical condition was greatly effecting my ability to do the hobby I love. He saw features in the baby loc and Designer SE that have been able to reopen doors for me that had been slowly closing in recent years. Features like being able to sew without using a foot pedal and a self threading serger were features I desperately needed and I continue to use each time I sit down to stitch. 3 hours later and our bank account almost $10,000 lighter, my husband was loading 2 machines with all the bells and whistles, including computer programs, mega hoops, mini hoops, a full range of stabilizers and anything else that I could possibly need was loaded into the van. I was floating on a cloud all the way home. I am still on that cloud 9+ years later, when it comes to my machines.

Since then, every time I sit at my machines I am still in heaven. I very much appreciate my machines. I am forever grateful we purchased when we had the funds, as our household income has greatly diminished due to my condition, I would never have been able to afford these machines if we had not gotten them when we did.

My husband still smiles when he sees me enjoying my machines. He sees the pleasure I get from sewing and creating items. He notices when I am looking at emails about special sales and often will come tell me that he has added some funds to my on bank card I use for on line purchases so I can get a few designs. Even if it is just a few dollars it means the world to me that he is looking for ways to uplift my spirits or to try to distract me from what my body deals with day in and day out.

My sweetie is definitely one of the keepers and I was blessed the day we met and continue to be blessed each and every day of the past 32 years of marriage.

Thank You, I know we both wish we could take away the others medical issues, unfortunately that is not possible, but the love we have, makes trials like ours easier to endure. So very grateful we have each other.

This is a beautiful story and what a marriage should be like. You are blessed in spite of your medical condition and I know if you had to choose one over the other, then wonderful husband would win every time. Keep loving that wonderful man and enjoy your machines to the best of your ability. And I agree that Babylock machines are the best.

Thank you, have also learned not to use canned air to help the air threading system! Love this serger!

I had meant this story to go under your story, but it took me so long to write this up that somewhere along the line I ended up starting a whole new thread! I can almost see your chin on the floor as the husband kept trying to convince the wife that she needed this new machine. I really hope it was not a ploy by the store to get sales, as another poster had stated. That would really turn me off to that business!

My husband comes into the sewing room each morning and still beams seeing my joy with my machines. This year I had an opportunity to reciprocate. He hemmed and hawed about joining a hunting lease and I pushed him to do it. Now I can see the tons of fun he is having with a great group of men as well as enjoying all the "FREE" meat! We are definitely blessed. Hugs. Nan W

You are so right! That is just how I feel about the machines my hubby has insisted I needed - a serger with air threading - wow. We can't afford any of what we have gotten, but we have managed anyway. He is a blessing as yes he sees how I feel when I have made something and show him.

I am glad your husband does the same for you and yes that air threading system is wonderful! just don't use canned air to help push the threads through! Had to jerry-rigg to be able to continue using the machine until we could get it in to be repaired properly. Lesson learned and I now also have a threading wire that helps with those difficult threads! Having a loving relationship makes the trials of life easier to endure. Hope you have many more years with your sweetie also!
