Have you ever said why not! I was watching a show Fit2Stitch and she was talking about leather, how it's washable. Well my leather sofa and chair are a mess, so I have nothing to lose, so into the wash the leather covers go from the chair, and did I forget to tell you , that it can go in the dryer.

So I just close my eyes turn the washer on and say a few "hail Mary's" , then into the dryer on low... you guessed it ! NO it didn't fall apart , but it worked the leather was cleaner and looked fresher. So I did the last of the cushions, this morning. Now I don't recommend this for the faint of heart, but if you were like me and had nothing to lose "why not".

I would just give them a wipe over with a leather oil now to put some oil back into them so they don't crack.
The leather would have been treated this way at the beginning.

My leather chairs are so 'had it' that just a wipe with a damp cloth does them in. But the lift mechanism still works on the single seats, so I keep them.
One day there will be a new lounge suite.
What washing liquid/powder did you use?

I just use reg. liquid detergent soap for my HE washer. Removed the slip covers and washed them. 2 at a time since I thought it would be so heavy when they were wet. I did them on a low dryer setting 2x still dam when I removed them, and put them back on the cushions
