I have this same machine and just transfer a phc file to my computer and pulled it up into my embird and converted it to pes. But it was a regular design that it would let me do this with. When I tried doing a font, it did say the file was corrupted and wouldn't let me do it. I think it may be something wrong with transferring fonts. So it isn't you, it is our machine. I usually set my fonts up in embird and then tranferr them to the machine and stitch them out. So this was a surprise to me to. Do you not have the font engine for embird? I love work with mine. Wish you luck.

No sewinhuggs, I don't have the font engine. Looking for a font that is small enought o use with Sonia Showalters Angel of Christmas Blank...thanks for letting me know you had tried also....
I suspect that sewinhuggs is correct re the fonts built into the machine...the designs I converted from phc to pes were standard ones that I had put into my machine and then saved to the floppy (and then deleted from my computer!) I then found the floppy into the computer only gave me the phc and I could not work with them in my software. The fonts are so stacked into complete alphas in the machine -- this might be the reason for not converting.
I think if you go into the files property and change it to embird instead of windows shell then embird will rcognize it. Try that and let me know. I know I had the same problem that my machine saved it in the PHC file and I know I changed it to PES somehow. Let me know if this does not work for you and I will try to retrace my steps.
Sorry I have no idea what you are talking about.....but I will try to figure it out.
I think sewinhuggs is right. It maybe the fonts that are unable to convert.
It seems that PHC is a very old version that Brother used before going to PES. Not even the Brother software can change it to pes, nor can Wilcom TrueSizer or Tajima-Pulse Ambassador. You will just have to save it in your computer as PHC. It will open in your 2500d without a problem. If anyone has been able to change the format to pes I would love to know also.
Yea, unfortunately Embird will not convert it...I have PE/Palette Next software will convert it to most any format except .Art...I am not sure what other softwares might recognize the PHC format...it is a Brother and BabyLock machine format...
dragonflyer, why does it say that it will convert it then...makes no sense.. It is one of the formats that is on the list on my embird.
2 or 3 yrs ago, I converted phc files that I had saved from my Bro ULT machine to floppy disk. When I put the floppy into the computer, I could not read the file. So I downloaded the trial Embird, and converted them all to .pes. I am stumped re you not being able to reformat the files with Embird now. I know that Embrilliance Thumbnailer will display the images, but I don't know of any other software to convert. (other than embird.)
I have contacted embird and they are also trying to figure this out. Or convert it for me.
