Wow Carolyn what a gorgeous hot pink coat. I love skiing and did it for years, but never tried snowshoeing! In NSW we have to go to the snowfields at Thredbo, Perisher, Charlotte Pass, Selwyn, Jindabyne and the Alpine Way they are fabulous resorts all in the Snowy Mountains. When we lived in Victoria we used to go Mount Hotham, Mount Buller and Falls Creek for skiing. Hope you are keeping warm, of course it's the opposite here. Love Chris

Great picture Carolyn! We just got our 1st snow here today-but it is a wet sloppy snow-not enough for any winter outdoor trekking. I have never snowshoed-hubby has a pair that have sat collecting dust for many years-he will probably take them out this year. I used to love ice skating personally but haven't done that either in probably 23 years. Good for you girls-you look happy and healthy out in the fresh winter air-love your coat too :D

Leaha by Leaha 17 Nov 2014

That's an idea, I'd certainly try...or else I'd come down as snowball and keep going until I hit something to stop me.

I always figures if you needed to wear snow shoes, then that is not where I wanted to be...I don't mind rain, but snow is not my favorite..its cold and wet at the same time...Here in Oregon, we are mostly wet...when it does snow its fast and thick...then in a couple of days its gone. wet and cold again...

weow wwwww you never get to go for a sleigh ride??lol

pacmp by pacmp 18 Nov 2014

I'm another Oregonian and I love the rain. When I was younger without my medical issues if we wanted to play in snow we would drive up to the areas that have snow and there are many fun areas for sledding, skiing and snowmobiling etc but I love to be able to come home and get out of the snow. In most of the lower altitudes of Oregon we get very little snow and it melts usually within a few hours. We also lived in Eastern Oregon where there was no way to get away from the snow and that was just the way it was for 3 months or so. Now with my health issues and the rods implanted down the back of my head and neck the cold tends to make it feel like an ice cream brain freeze that does not let up, so warmer areas are much better for me, but it sure does look like you are having fun and you most definitely will not get lost for long with your bright pink coat keeping you toasty warm. I'll enjoy your snow fun through your pictures. Continue learning an having fun!

jrob by jrob 20 Nov 2014

I freeze in cold weather, but I can't imagine having rods to hold the cold. Yikes!

I can't imagine this much snow already. you look well equipped! We are cold here in GA. but not snow. My hanging baskets of geraniums are still on the front porch. They are still blooming their hearts our and I need to move them to the garage. Kay

Smart woman to wear a neon bright coat! Never know when one will need to be seen especially in the bush. Are you up near Santa Clause? I'd love to try this and cross country skiing, nice and flat! I'm not brave enough to throw myself down a mountain! I think both would be fun!
