My granddaughter Bella came over for another sewing lesson this weekend we made a ITH Bag and Mugrug for her teacher the design is from Omas . The purple one was made first it's for a 5x7hoop but we decided a bit small for what we wanted so improvised.. half in the hoop and finished on sewing machine to get a 9.5"x8". Bella sewed the seams herself and learnt how to do ladder stitch to close the openings, I'm very proud her and she's loving every minute of it.. It will be her brother Williams turn in a couple of weeks so will have to put thinking cap on for what to make as he's only in 1st grade..

Dear Marian, how wonderful that you are teaching Bella the art of sewing at such an early age. Good on you and I'm pleased to see that you will also teach her brother. It's never too early to get the love of sewing instilled in our youth. Great job on the bags, please tell her from me I am very impressed. Love Chris

I will thank you Chris, I'm a firm believer in girls and boys learning to cook, sew, and when old enough to mow the lawns you just never know when your going to need the skills..

A wonderful project for your granddaughter & they have turned out splendidly! A mug rug or coaster might be just the ticket for your grandson. Either way I'm sure you will come up with something fun! ~hugs~

I'm hoping he'll pick something like this, but just when you have him figured out he changes direction but either way he'll have fun..

She is doing great! These are good ideas for us to make for our g-kids teachers, however they have more than 1 teacher, so mug rugs would have to do- I like how the black looks like a chalk board.I like your apple stitching, around the band, on the green. I can't see it too well in the photo of the black bag. I have the apple design, so I may try to copy you. Don't they say imitation is the best form of flattery? Thank you Bella! ..What age are you?
