It would appear that a number of Cuties have machine problems and are currently patiently waiting for them to be repaired. What suggestions would you have for them to use the time they are machineless and suffering the withdrawal symptoms?

(I was able to get my machine serviced while my daughter moved house as I don't live near my dealer.)

I refuse to think about what I would do. Cry a lot???

No crying you would need to see a positive to being minus the embroidery machine

Organize or re-organize your design files.
Post pictures in Projects of the recent stitch-outs that you have not yet had time to post.
Teach a friend how to use their machine to sew or embroider.
Do an inventory of your fabric stash to see what you might need from the fabric store and then go shopping.
Count your scissors. ;)

I love the last suggestion!

Now scissor counting may keep some Cuties busy for ages and ages...

I love this Caroline and I was very busy before I went away. Mainly getting designs all ready for Christmas , hoping that I will have my machine back by then. I also got many letters (e mails) done which must have surprised my friends!!!

Drastic and costly but sounds fun

I have 2 backups----both NOT high tech---but at least I can still work on smaller designs----also have SOOOOO much regular sewing to do----many thngs with stuff I have embroidered but have not sewn the items together yet---I really LOVE to do the embroidery but I do NOT enjoy the sewing anymore---I HAD to sew for 40 years for the family---and now I do very little sewing---I can go to WallyWorld and get a T-shirt for $2 or get them on sale at ACMoore or Michaels or Joanns----and back in the day if you wanted a Tshirt other than a white Tshirt--you had to STRETCH&SEW!!!God bless you and hope you get your machine back soon!!!!

Make a list of items needed for future projects. Shop for your next projects. Package up the supplies needed for each project so that you don't have to waste sewing time. Plan a day with friends. Go someplace that you normally do not go(be safe), to see what inspiration you get for future projects. Sort your supplies and organize them. Maybe you have wanted to change your sewing area, now is the time.
Get your Christmas cards ready to be mailed.
Sorry, my mind just keeps running. Hugs to all and hope that those machines are ready tomorrow!

Exactly what I would suggest. And when the fingers get itchy and need to do something creative, finish a knitting or crocheting UFO.

Thanks Hayleymax for a great list of ideas and Mops too

A great idea and one I did this morning while sitting with Gruff while my daughter had an appointment with Twm

Read, visit friends, take a vacation or take the time to see some tourist site you have always wanted to visit but never made to time to see.

I think Sarah/Airyfairy is away which is one good suggestion. Personally I have seen the tourist sites near me many times and I have done a lot of travelling recently so am enjoying being at home

Decide on a whim to sell your house. It will consume every spare waking moment that you have. In fact, decide to close an estate, sell your house, and buy another one, all at the same time. :) It worked for me. No withdrawal. :)
Good luck with getting your machine back again! They are probably backed up due to the holiday crunch.

LOL... I don't know anyone but you who would do all of that at once.

mommajo by mommajo 29 Oct 2014

I did that. Crazy I know but house I had loved for years came up for sale and I just had to jump.

graceandham by graceandham 29 Oct 2014

No, I don't sell house on a whim! Oh, my, I am laughing so hard. I bet you were busy day and might and all night.

asterixsew by asterixsew 29 Oct 2014

I personally don't have a problem with my machine as its just been serviced but I know others do. My dealer serviced it very quickly as I was only in his area a few days. Housemoving is a secondhand experience but will be first hand at some point. Your life sounded so busy you could have had a new machine built for you in the time it took to move?
