Disappearing 4 patch plus some. I started with 4 square blocks , each 6" sq, but I for got to take a photo. I used 1 pink dot, 1 floral, and 2 green/white print. I sewed my 4 blk then cut 1" away from center, all the way around the 4, top to bottom, side to side. You need to watch the tutorial, it's from Missouri Star quilt company, to understand what I mean. When I finished the sq I had to add 6" strips to two edges, to make it large enough for my bib.(photos below) I thought I had my tiny center sq right and after I got it made I see it probaly needed the sm floral under the large pink dot, and the sm pink dot over the floral. But if you go and watch the tutorial, look at hers hanging behind. She did the same thing on some of hers! Oh well, I still think it made a pretty bib for you know who...what do you think?-Toogie...Edited to add the link, I hope this is alright. It on page 11 of the tutorials, 3rd one down called Disappearing 4 patch. (Click on tutorials at the top header, right side, then page 11 at the bottom.

just had a crazy thought(and no before you ask I'm not just crazy) what if your squares were 9" instead of 6" I wonder would that work

toogie by toogie 23 Oct 2014

I thought of that, but I don't think much of the large pink sq at the top would be in it. I think it would bring the little 4 sq blk about at the bottom of the larger pink sq, not leaving much of the LPS showing.-Hey, genious is born from craziness,SOMETIMES-lol

Excellent work Toogie, the bibs looks fabulous. You should do a couple of lap rugs for yourself using this method. Love Chris

Oh wow this is beautiful. I love the use of solid colors or fabric that reads solid in your disappearing 4 patch. Sometimes this block along with the disappearing 9 patch can be too busy. The eye always needs somewhere to rest. Your colors are beautiful together. Love it

I'm not too good at links, but if you read the top, it's from Missouri Star Quilt Company. It's the disappearing 4 patch, click on the tutorials at the top, and I think it's on page 10,11,or 12, not sure. I will try to add a link but no promises.
