yes it is like that .older people here us it to cover a lovely tablecloth you don't want marked ,any plastic will do .
I haven't been saving my threads but I will now. I have a hard time keeping my grand daughter from getting into thing that look to inviting. Thanks for the idea.

I would not have thought of using a light weight vinyl..If hung in window or where light shins on it probably will give it a glitter look. Thank you for that tip and all the picts.. Always interesting to see how variegated thread sews out. and as always love you creativity.
Someone told me long ago to save my cut off thread for some purpose (and I have done so), but I didn't remember why... Now I see. Thanks a lot for this tutorial :o)

Good Job. I would have never thought of using plastic. I usually would use Vilene, but the plastic gives it shine and glitter look.

Think you, you could leave out the plastic and do this with WSS, to hang it in the window?
But I think the design sews criss cross over the threads so it would be as FSL?
