Prayer Quilt and pillowcase made for The 13 year old had accident. (In Personal)-Women On Mission doesn't usually make a pillowcase, but I did this because this was personal .-The quilts are like lap quilts, I guess. They are one and one half yds by the width of fabric . I usually just do the embroidering, and we have other church members that sew and put them together. I did the whole quilt here, as I just got everything together Thursday and wanted to bring it to chuch tomorrow, for prayers. They are marked off about 4' apart and an emb floss thread about 7" long is inserted on the marks,NOT tied. As someone prays for this person, they tie a floss with about 3 good knots.- I will post other photos in Personal or chat about this project, to show you the help I did have with these.-Toogie

I knew it was a Baptist church by your "women on mission" (in my early years it was WMU!) Great job on the quilt & case and I just LOVE the idea of the prayer quilt. Hopefully I can encourage some of my friends to do this with me. Lovely!! God bless all of you!

Yes, the group has been doing this for quite a few years. I think the most I emb at one time was around 20 or 20 something. It is just sad so many people are hurting, in need. Thanks for looking-T

I told my husband it looks like a chalkboard. My daughter and another lady are driving the 3 hours round trip, to the hospital tomorrow, to be with the family. I know they are tired. The grandmother has left the hospital and came home for only one night, last week, I believe.

Thanks, the group started this quite a few years back. One lady may buy a print piece and another may buy the backing. O ne may buy the batting or threads and sometimes may buy all of it. This is fabrics I had, the group had purchased a large roll of batting, and all I had to get at this time was the DMC floss. This is why when I find something on sale, I pick it up, so when I need it I'll have it. Luckily she is a cat lover. Her grandmother says she has four!

Brilliant idea Toogie. I asked my Priest and one other person today to pray for Grace. We had some sad news this morning in our congregation as one of our parishioner's husband was diagnosed with Prostate cancer on Friday. He will begin treatment next week. Luckily they found it during a PSA blood sample. We were all so upset as this family does so much for our parish life. Seeing this quilt has uplifted me. Love Chris

My husband was diagnosed with that three and a half years ago, he had to push for the test as they did not do it routinely, It was very aggressive 9.2 out of 10. he is still all clear, after going for the operation, and the radiotherapy as it had gone further than the prostate.
Another year and a half and he will have the all clear.
I pray for your friend that it will be a total success.
Hugs Pam.

Chris, thanks again on behalf of Grace. Maybe they caught your friends on time and can stop it from speading. Will remember him too in prayer,.... so many with cancer.

Pam, I am happy to hear your husband is doing so well and hope he continues to do so.

Thanks Pam, that is such encouraging news. Everyone in church was in tears when we were praying for him. We made a people chain and then everyone lay their hands on one another. I hope Grace is improving too Toogie, love Chris
