Put your thinking caps on ladies.. I inherited this material form daughter #2's MIL when she passed, not sure how long she had it for we're thinking at least 30yrs.. What would you make from this.. this bit is only a small piece.. Marian

For something simple to make, the pillowcases would look nice too, you could add a border for the end, like in the sausage pillowcases, and embroider on the hem end, Mr and Mrs, or whatever names or a coordinating design to go with the fabric.
Where would you like to see this fabric, is the main thing. Bedroom, kitchen, or to wear? Is it a comfy smooth fabric? Lots of great ideas here from all these ladies!

you have gotten some excellent ideas, Be sure you tug it in every direction with both hands. I received some fabric from my daughter's
MIL when she passed away. some of the fabric when I snapped it with hand at 2 corners proceeded to shred. But had pieces of the same fabric that was okay. a lot of it was old and kept in closed boxes, a lot was rotted and a lot not. so you never can tell unless you test it. Hope your piece is fine/Lillian AKA lbrow

after 30 years what kind of shape is this fabric in, is it worn thin with age and when washed will the creases iron out. I don't know if I would put a lot of work into fabric that old. I would use it as an ironing board cover or curtain

You would never have guessed it's age by the condition of the fabric, it is perfect a good solid cotton, it was washed and ironed I got it and again recently to be used Thanks I never thought about an ironing board cover..

Make a little stuffed heart with 3 little hearts suspended from the bigger heart on ribbons a different lengths...I made 3 of these after my Greatgrand Mother passed away and I got one OLD quilt that was beyond repair, so I took the best parts I could find and made three,. I also made a good sized teddy bear with a few patcnes...that way my Mother, my Aunt and I had a piece of her to remember....I made them more then 25 years ago and to this day they still hang in my bedroom...Hope you like this idea, will you post a pic of your idea.
Thanks.............evie

I think a lovely pouch would be a good idea so you could put make up or something like that in it when you travel & I would use something solid for the lining so that you would remember her whenever you use it. it is a lovely pc

How much do you have of this delightful fabric? I would also be asking how many daughters and sons did she have and then decide to make something for each of them like a purse, bag, cushion, the list is endless. I would also want to know how thick/thin the fabric is and what its made from. Questions, questions from me or follow Bowlds idea

she must have really liked it and to me it looks a ship's wheel. Why not make a memory pillow, with her name, etc. asnd give it to her son or daughter...

I'd fold it neatly and put it in my stash and I would take it out and look at it every few months and neatly put it back in my stash. I would repeat this for years and think how neat it was every time I took it out. Any one with me on this!?

I love the sherbert colors in this fabric. I always think quilts but if you only have a small bit, maybe you could use this for a kitchen set with potholders, edging on towels, basket liner... that sort of thing.

If you know me,a purse or tote. If this is all you have of this fabric, maybe the lining a contrast, and cut a little higher, so it will come over the top front and back, and show. Then make the straps out of the lining contrast fabric too, so it will coordinate. Just an idea.

Nice and colourful fabric, I would make a small bag/purse, maybe with a zip on top.
