When you say "zapped them off" are you talking about something on the surface? My floaters move around inside my eyes. I was also told to train my brain to ignore them(not see them) - easier said than done. I was told if the wispier ones clumped together it might be possible to laser it.
I have not yet had cataract surgery but I have had floaters for years and years and you do get where you don't see them so much most of the time.
I have had that problem a lot Carolyn since Cataract surgery yrs ago and then a film grew over the implants and they had to zap them. Most of mine are gone now but some show up especially when I am overtired or my BP is up. For the most part I think they do not bother me, but for a while I had a large one that impaired my vision in one eye. I was told he could remove surgically but to give it time to absorb and it finally did but took about 6 weeks. There's always hope, they'll all go away soon.
My right one has a film over it.This is only about week two,oh no 4 more to go:(:(i am seeing my normal doctor on Oct. 30th if there not gone by then i will ask them to zap them away .I hate this !!!!I need to see!!hugs
Oh my! I do hope that you get to see your regular doctor soon. What a disappointment after that long day of travel.
I have this problem too.
"A Posterior Vitreous Detachment is a natural change that occurs in the eye. Over 75 per cent of the population over the age of 65 develop a Posterior Vitreous Detachment, and it is not uncommon for it to develop in your 40s or 50s. PVD is not a sign of a disease or eye health problem. For most of us a PVD happens naturally as we get older.
PVD can cause symptoms such as floaters, little flashes of light, or a cobweb effect across your vision. These same symptoms can be an indication of a more serious problem, such as a retinal tear, which needs urgent attention."
Mine hasn't caused damage to my retinas so I have to put up with it. Laser treatment isn't recommended here in UK because the results aren't good enough when compared with the dangers.
Yet another "age thing"!
They say Old Age is the golden Years. Here I am pushing 76 and still wondering where is the gold.
So pleased that the visit went without a hitch. Thinking of you dear Carolyn.
I've had mine 22 years and while it's true some days I don't notice them, most days I do! This sounds like book learning versus actual life experience. Good for you for re-booking!
They are so annoying. One feels like chasing bugs away. I do have to say that in my case they come and they go. I did not know they can be zapped off. Hugs hope your floaters will depart.
Maybe you should have offered to share them with him, if they are no big deal. Was he a young new and improved version... Lol
I will keep you in my prayers dear friend & don't let it worry you! You are a lovely woman& he sounds like a Dr. with a lousy bedside manner! Good thing he is not your reg Dr. ~hugs & an extra one for you too!~
