Question:

I didn't have Mylar sheets but I did find some "metallic twist" in my stash (can't tell you how long I've had this!). I used a design for Mylar and used this stuff instead. It seems to work fine, it was good in the water when I dissolved the Vilene. Is this stuff Mylar too? I'm going to use it for ornaments for sure, get rid of some of it anyway!

Great idea. I am sure I have some of this. I will give it a try. Love the way the crinkles make it sparkle.

This design was a freebie from charming station I believe, I'm not home so I can't check.

No, it was from Inspiration Mutz, not Charming Station.

I like it, and yes I would try washing and see how it comes out, but for ornaments, it would really be neat, you won't be washing ornaments, I don't think/Lillian

From what I can tell it's like a more dense coloured type of mylar, I've heard you can use a cellophane type of gift wrap as a mylar substitute as long as it's not repeatedly washed.. So good on you for using your noodle and coming up with this..

Great job thinking outside the box! It is for decorations anyway -- It should work well for ornaments.

Thanks, I'm going to put one on a piece of fabric and wash it and see what happens.

Yep I'm thinking the same Cathy If it's not going to have repeated washes I can't see an issue.

See what you find while digging in your plastic bins!
Thank you Karen. Baby Percy is growing like a weed!

It looks pretty darn good to me! An ornament isn't something that'd be washed regularly anyway, so I can't see a problem with using an alternative to mylar.

That's what I thought! It looks nice and it won't be washed anyway. Thanks. Do you have some of this in your stash!! LOL.
