Another quilt done. This was supposed to go to charity, but one of my grandsons claimed it as his. The original pattern called for sewing buttons on it, but I didn't like that idea, so I embroidered them on - all 41! The large buttons are 50cm and the smaller ones are 30cm. They were very stitch intensive and took quite a while to stitch out, but I think they look almost real.

Dear Vida, I gather you are from Australia as I have those PEGS that you have the quilt hung up with! Lovely quilt and very vibrant. So glad your grandson is keeping this one. Love Chris

Really cool quilt. Having an embroidery machine can make buttons so much safer. What a great job. Love your quilt label too.

I really like your quilt, and your label!! Where did you get the pattern for your quilt? I did a search for "Going In Circles", and found lots of different designs, but not the one you used. I like your stitched buttons too. No worries about them catching on anything or coming off either. Very nice indeed!

I got the pattern out of a book called All Buttoned Up by Loraine Manwaring and Susan Nelson. I got the book in .pdf format but you can buy the paperback from Amazon for cheap here's the link http://www.amazon.com/All-Buttone...

Very pretty, glad the Gson is keeping it all in the family...you didn't want to donate this one anyway. What a compliment to your talent. :) Leaha

Oh Vida, you're not the only smart one in your family, your grandson is too, for staking his claim on this! Do you have a long arm quilting machine or one of those Grace Quilting frames? I am in awe of you quilters and would love to have the little gracie frame. This is excellent!~Toogie

Awesome quilt! Great idea- even if time consuming- to embroider the buttons. Thanks for sharing!
