Leftovers from Day & Night Quilt (design by Eleanor Burns)...this was made from the leftover cuts from the Day & Night Quilt...I had to add bits here and there to make it a full quilt (it was suppose to be a table runner) and I really like the addition of the black sashings...It is quilted with Celtic designs as well, and it is quite heavily quilted...although you can't really see it very well...I think I actually like it better than the original Day & Night quilt...what do you all think? The link to the original Day & Night quilt is below....

I didn't know you were going to make me choose ONE...:P I like this one because the black accents/enriches the colors. I also like the window pane framing. The other one is just as pretty, Leaha

I love El. burns for 14 years i got every book she ever made then they started stopping them at the border and charging an extra tax plus a 5 dollar Canada post fee .To much for a 10 dollar book ended up @ $35. but i love her methods.
You have done a great job hugs

Spectacular!!! Love the celtic quilting, and I agree with you - the black sashing is perfect. It makes the rest of the colors look so much brighter. So, now you have a quilt for winter and one for summer, without changing your color scheme. Great job!!!

This dark sashing is so dramatic, really makes the design pop!How are you quilting these celtic desigs, stenciled and on a regular machine or a quilting frame like the Grace? It is very pretty and you should be proud to use on your bed.

Thanks, Toogie...these were stitched in the ditch first, then I free motioned 1/4 inch around each piece in the quilt...then the celtic designs were digitized and all done by machine in the hoop...

This is very nice too, better contrast but I love the blocks on the other best. Beautiful job on both! How are the celtic patterns sewn? Thank you! Are they embroidered or sewing machine or quilting machine?

Thanks, Vicki...I am partial to the black sashing, too...I think it really frames the blocks well and adds some panache.

Such a beautiful quilt you made from leftovers! Wow! I went back and forth looking at the two quilts, trying to choose my favorite. Couldn't do it. They are 2 completely different looking quilts. The black pops a little more, but the other quilt flows a little more. They are both gorgeous and I am proud of you for finishing UFOs. *flowers to everybody*

Two very stunning quilts..I would have to pick but if I really really had to I would take the one made with the left over fabric.. Agree with your husband only more so;-) 'they are both keepers' Love love that fabric showing in the 3 picture.. Congratulations.
