I have a couple of questions I am hoping cuties can help me with: I have 2 baskets here for the silent Auction to raise funds for the Brain Injury Association. One is ALL golf related & the other a woman's Bath & Scent Basket should I put it all together as one Larger Basket? or is it better at 2 small baskets & should I make some sort of tag or card to say what is inside the baskets I will wrap them in coloured celo wrap so it may be hard to see through the basket? Should I add candy to the Golf Basket? I think I am getting overwhelmed with the choices but I want to do a good job so that it will make the most money. Maybe the bath basket should be a bigger basket so it gets more money......................Or is it as simple as changing the basket? I have changed the bath basket yet again & have added a bit more to it......good or bad or should I switch back to the other one?

Now it looks gorgeous! Well done! I think a book will spoil the effect, and I am a book worm, I love books. You don't have to add anything else, it is gorgeous as it is.

You have spent a lot of time on these and it shows, they are beautiful just as they are, put a big bit of cellophane over if you have some and a big bow.OR just the big bow on the handle thicker ribbon than on the toilet rolls.
Hugs Pam.

Loralye, You have done a great job with these baskets. I like the idea of 2 baskets. Should raise more money. Love the Teddy in the Bath Basket. Go for the clear Celo wrap so people can see what is inside. Hope all goes well with the auction. Hugs Shirley

OK I have upgraded the lady's basket with all the suggestions from you wonderful cuties! I have changed to an even bigger basket & added a candle, (Tall Vanilla scented) A teddy bear, Hard Candy, & facial cleansing wipes too. I thank each of you for helping me to make this a better basket. Is there anything else that I should add? I was thinking about adding A Nora Roberts paperback?

Maybe no book but an eye mask? I did change the 2 hearts around & switched them so the picture frame shows better

I'd make the bathroom items basket a bit bigger. Also how about adding some face wipes (make up removers)? I like the idea of candy in the golfer's basket and also the idea of a candle in the bath basket. You've done a great job with both baskets and also using clear cellophane will make it look gorgeous. Well done Loralye, love Chris

Do you think I should have a dollar value on each of them since they are for a SILENT AUCTION?

No.let them decide what they would like to bid. Hopefully they will bid big because it is a fund raiser.

Hi Loralye, I also vote 2 baskets! Love the presentation you have done! The 2nd basket is a great size, the 1st basket was a bit small. Hope your auctions raise Lots and lots of money. I would also say to add just a little chocolate in both baskets. :) Beautiful job! *FLOWERS*

Two baskets is my vote. And the bigger bath basket shows off everything better and makes it look more inviting. When my daughter does one, she adds a tag that lists everything in the basket. Candy would be good in both baskets. Do you have a candle in the bath one? These are very nice!!

The professionals always go big basket and use empty boxes to raise the product to the top of the basket. use a little of the shredded paper to cover and fill in and with all the work and items you have in there, both will be big hits!

pldc by pldc 05 May 2014

I have added the bulk paper in the bottoms of them & then added shreddings that are pretty to them both as well but you can't see them for the products. Thank you Christine

Your baskets looks wonderful and inviting! I would use a clear cellofane or something see-through to wrap the baskets with, won't you be able to raise more money if they can see the delightful things you have in there? Very well done!

Oh, and if you want the bath basket to look bigger, just change the basket to a bigger one. But I think they are fine just the way they are...

pldc by pldc 05 May 2014

I did change it to a bigger one, should I go bigger then this? I switched the small basket of bath products to the 2cd photo larger basket you think that I should go bigger then this?

anssmile by anssmile 05 May 2014

I think I will go for a bigger basket.

I used to sell baskets at faires with bath items, and I used shredded pieces of coloured cellofane to arrange the items in. I normally put a pretty perfumed candle in with the items, and then I would stand the basket in the middle of a fairly big transparent piece of cellofane, and just bring the four corners of the cellofane to the top of the basket. You just tuck the sides in to make them tidy. I would use a coloured bow to fasten it at the top, and cut the top to a pleasing size. I would then just try to spread the part that stucks out above the bow, to open like a flower bud. And that is it.

anssmile by anssmile 05 May 2014

By bigger I mean the bigger basket on the photo.

pldc by pldc 05 May 2014

wonderful hints thank you!

I like the two smaller baskets idea. If you put it all together, you are catering only to those who play golf, and will miss out on the non players bids. This way you cover both golfers and non-golfers. I think both baskets look great they way they are. Adding candy, nuts or granola for a snack during their golf game might not be a bad idea though, lol. I think they both look great and you have an excellent eye for presentation. Good luck with raising lots of money at the Silent Auction!
I just donated to a Silent Auction in my area for Domestic Abuse a few weeks ago. They were thrilled with the funds they raised from the Auction and other proceeds raised at their event.

Diane this is very helpful thank you & of course you are right they won't all be golfers so the bath basket would hopefully appeal to the women in the crowd. Thank you reminding me of this! ~hugs~
