Congratulations to the beautiful couple! You look great too.
Thank you for sharing these photos.
Hugs, Lidia
Thanks Lidia, they are beautiful to me.-I couldn't contain myself, had to show photos,so be forewarned in June for wedding photos!-lol-Toogie
They make such a handsome couple. WOW - what lovely presents.
I think so too Sarah, but of couse I should-lol They were blessed with nice gifts, friends, love and laughter!
I thought the safe was an useful, but unusual gift. It is fire proof and waterproof.
What a great looking couple Toogie-Taylor is beautiful. Sounds like they made out quite well with their gifts. I love when practical gifts are given-not something that has to put away for safe keeping and only taken out to admire once a year(or 10)- Congrats to Taylor and Caleb! ~linda~
Looks like a wonderful day for all! Best wishes for them my friend! You look styling in your "new" jacket too! ~hugs~
Cute couple! Best wishes to them that they may always be as happy as they are today.
Lovely couple and it looks like they were "showered" with gifts to begin their new lives together.
I like your new jacket. It's looks wonderful on you.
They did recieve quite a few gifts, all really nice.I 'll venture to say, that Caleb is happy now, they had this shower. He didn't really want one, because he's 'been making out' with enough. We told him no,let her pick out some things that she would like, after all it will soon be her home too.....Thanks about the jacket.I freeze most of the time winter or a/c so I almost, always need sleeves or a jacket.
Things are always different in the world. In Belgium we don't have a wedding shower. (or not at least when I got married almost 20 Years ago)The birde & groom have a wishlist at a prefered store, and guest can buy items of it. these items are delivered to their house, or the guests bring them to the party or the couple picks them up them selves. We don't have a real party before.
these are for sure busy times.
You say "or the guests brings them to the party". What party are you speaking of? Is it the wedding reception, after the wedding ceremony?...changing the subject for a minute. When I flew to Germany,40 plus years ago,we landed in Belgium. It sure was pretty, what I could see from the air.I remember a hillside, with rows planted. All the rows were so neatly planted and that image has always stuck in my mind. There was a doctor on board, that was kind to me,he lived there.
Toogie, your jacket looks like a million bucks! :) what a great find that was, huh? Your grands are super-cute. Happy for you and the family!
lol-well,it doesn't look like I got it free, does it?Thanks, the g-kids are sweet and thank you for commenting.
Wow every thing looks great, love your jacket. I had never heard of a wedding shower either. in the Uk gifts are taken to the wedding.
our Son gets married in June to on the 21st, what date is yours.
Hugs Pam.
Same date!-The guest that were unable to attend, usually do bring gifts to the wedding. The weddings are such a busy time,I think that is why we have the showers,to get that part over and the couple can take it to the place they will live.Otherwise, they leave right after the wedding, for the honeymoon, and the parents would have to store it all.It just makes it a little easier, this way.Best wishes for your son and future DIL-Toogie
Congratulations...looks like quite a haul!
Thanks..they got a lot of very nice things, but not 1 bath towel or facecloth !- You would think somebody would have emb them a set-lol
Looks like it was a success, many nice this for their future house and don't you look wonderful in your new jacket, love the cake haven't seen one of these toppers before. Hope yoiu enjoyed yourself...
I did enjoy myself.I only had tears one time, when a gift was opened. It had a beautiful saying on it,but I can't tell you, word for word, what it said.I know it was a blessing verse and I got teary-eyed.In the same gift was a set of coasters, they looked ceramic, with their last name on it.The lady that gave these has a gift shop here and she makes things for her shop, too. She may have made these gifts, and they were nice.
Oh Toogie, they look sooo happy in anticipation of their new life together! And you look so pretty. How fun to have a shower for them!
Yes, it was a fun gathering. They are so happy and altho I know the 'new' will wear off,I do hope they stay happy like the saying goes,"they lived happily ever after." Caleb has been very responsible ever since a teen,he worked at a local place, paying his own truck insurance. Then when he graduated he went straight to work at a plant making enough, that he moved out,on his own.So he knows about paying bills, saving, bugeting, etc. Taylor isn't finished with her college yet but I know she will, she is very bright. They should make it,they have been going together for quiet a while and seem to know each other pretty well by now.
Looks like they got lots of goodies. They sure make a lovely couple & yes she is very pretty & will make a stunning bride. Your jacket matches your blouse/top perfectly.
Thank you, they recieved many, lovely gifts.I haven't seen her wedding gown, but I know she will be beautiful.I guess we will all see in June, because you know I will have to show you-lol
YOU look marvelous! That jacket is just fantastic. Thank you for letting me share in the bridal shower. They are a really cute couple. I think the best thing she is getting is a wonderful fun grandmother like you, Toogie. I've never seen a cake topper like the rings before, that is such a neat idea. Hugs Leaha
Forgot to wish them a long and happy life, Bless their union, oh Lord.
Thank you for all your sweet comments, too, and a blessing.I had never seen this cake topper either, but I like it.
Very good-looking couple. The bridal shower looked very well planned. Love the colors and the cake topper. Lovely photos. You look stunning in your new jacket.
Thank you for your comments.I really liked the cake topper and the cake was so good.It had fresh stawberries in the filling and there are blue roses all over.I don't know if you can see them well in the photo.
Beautiful shower pictures, you girls are dressed to the nines! Love your pictures, Caleb is dressed fine, they make a really cute couple with a really cute Grandma. Your jackets fits you nicely, glad you found it just in time. The cookware and dishes are very nice, lots of nice gifts for her shower. Sending blessings for a long happy marriage.
Thanks for the compliments. They are a cute couple, both very handsome,if I may say so too...As for as the jacket,it did fit to a tee,so to speak, and was a lucky find.I think the dishes were from Bed,Bath and Beyond (do you have one of these near you?),and she got a $50.gift certificate for there,so she can add to her set. They also got money and more gift certificates, but I don't know exactly what. Thanks for the blessings!-Toogie
Bed bath and beyond is a couple of hours away, we don't usually go there, we just don't shop as much, hubby hates it, but he sometimes likes bargain hunting sometimes. I like to look a lot and he likes to go in get what he wants and he's out of there. lol!
Most men I know do,run in and out.I like to look,so I am glad when hubby stays home-lol
You are lovely! She is lovely. I need a grill! That one looks FAB! Best wishes to the happy couple. Why does your grandson have Caleb on the back of his arm.
Yes,nevermind...I know, I hate that, so we won't discuss it...She is lovely, inside and out,but so is he,if guys can be 'lovely'-lol..We need a grill too and this was a nice one.She told me she bought it 1 1/2 years ago,on black friday for $150. I don't know what the regular price would have been.I know it is very heavy, too.
Me too, tattoos have taken a lot of our youth by storm, my youngest son has them galore, my older one would never get one, me either and I work with several who have them too. I can think of better ways to spend my money. I sometimes call my embroidery clothing tattoos. lol! Just say it in thread!
Lovely photos. Looks as though you all had a great day. love your new jacket. Shirley
Thanks,Shirley,we did have a wonderful time.I love my jacket too,and no one was the wiser-lol
Great jacket and a super story with it. Looks like a great time was had. I have not heard of a wedding shower before
Really, you never heard of a wedding shower? Where are you from?We learn so much from other customs. Here in the USA, we invite family and friends, usually just women, to a party where refreshments are served and gifts are opened by the Bride-to-be.The groom usually shows up,but may not,at the end to load all the gifts.I good time is had by all,and both sides get to meet each others future relatives, if they haven't met all by now.The bride can register at places/stores where if she likes something in peticular. She can list it on a register in their name.As the item is purchased, the store marks it off her register,so no one else buys the same gift.It is not neccessary to do this but it is helpful,if you are unsure what to give and they want a certain item or set.If some don't give or come to the shower, they give at the wedding. What do they do where you are from? Do they not 'shower the couple' with gifts ?
I live in the UK. Your description sounds like a rather sedate hen night which happens in the UK. Gifts are not produced on these evenings. Many brides to be will have a gift list available but for the last few weddings there have been no gift lists. Gifts are given just before the wedding day or on the day. The family of one of my son in laws does not live near us at all so when we meet they have to stay
Thanks for yours too,I like to hear how things are done, elsewhere.Sometimes the bride is given a lingerie shower also, but it is usually attended by young women friends, of the bride and groom.
We don't do showers either, neither for a wedding or a birth. Hen nights are something new as well, they came over from your neck of the woods some 20 years ago. Presents are always given after the event. A 10-days basket for a new baby is an old custom, made in advance of course and gender neutral, not to be opened before the birth and then one present a day. Nowadays they might or might not tell you if it's a girl or a boy, but the name is usually kept a well-guarded secret.
The girl I made the owl blanket for would never wait to open the gifts one a day...She can't stand to have anything around that is a surprise! Me I love the anticipation and guessing. :)
