Am I missing Something:

I received this link from a valued member of the Cute community and just wondered if I am missing something here or was the sender trying to tell me something!!!

Answers on a postcard please but only if they are polite.........lol. If I have been totally thick (which is not uncommon) and there is something offensive I have missed, would one of our illustrious Mods please delete my post.

I had to take my computer in because I had a virus...I didn't send you anything though....The guy who fixed mine told me to stay away from some of the interent usages...He installed Comodo dragon and Mozilla Firefox as my internet carriers to use....Has less chances as spam and viruses attacking...Took awhile for me to change over , but i like it...He told me Interenet Explorer was the worst for attracting viruse...thought i would pass this on...

It was not me. I am receiving strange emails from time to time and I never open pictures, even when I think it's ok. I just visit the websites. Also, when I receive a suspicious email, I tag it as spam and let my server know. I never click where it's written "Click here" either. Even though I have the maximum security antivirus on, I don't take chances.

I didn't click on this link, after I read Meg's post about viruses. The jest of it sounds like, it's offensive, or sender thought you were? I joke around, like you,but I never sent this, whatever it is,just to let you know.I like good, clean humor and nothing that would intentionally hurt someone,as I am sure you do too.Sorry they misunderstood your intent.Sincerely-Toogie

Any chance of sending a PM to the person who sent it?

I promise it wasn't me either Dennis, I've been in at Amy's place all day (well up to 2.30pm) cleaning out her pantry and one of the plastic cupboards, hung out her washing and did another load and sorted out the clothes. They left for Bali today - Trevor drove them down to the Sydney International airport this morning, they are off for a 9 day holiday. I've still got a few more rooms to do, she asked me to help out and of course I said I'd do it. Back is a bit sore now!!!!! I'll go back tomorrow and start on some of the other rooms. I love doing this especially when no-one is around. She asked me to be brutal!!!

I do hope you can work your computer problem out. Love Chris

Chris when you have finished please would you like to come and do the same for me?

pennifold by pennifold 04 Apr 2014

Of course I'd come Caroline, I love cleaning out cupboards etc.. I'm a bit of an neat freak! Amy takes after me with regard to her casual clothes, lingerie etc. and has all her clothes folded neatly in drawers but unlike me when it comes to hanging her dresses etc. - I have mine colour coded! How's that for being anal? Love Chris

All jokes aside this is a serious matter.
Dennis perhaps that Cute member's email account has been hacked (quite a common occurrence) and the message probably did not come from her/him at all.

Did you write back and ask if they sent it, before you clicked on the link?

Websites are notorious for containing hidden viruses and or spyware and mongrel hackers don't care who they hurt when they hack an account and send out potentially dangerous web links.

Never, but NEVER, click on any link sent to you unless you know for sure the Sender ACTUALLY did send it to you.

And NEVER, but ABSOLUTELY NEVER click on any link ending in .EXE unless you, yourself, have downloaded a program that you know is safe and from a reputable source. (When I worked in the IT industry doing this was considered serious enough to terminate the employment of the offender.)

If the link was NOT purposefully sent to you from another Cutie and IF you clicked on the link and you haven't contracted a computer virus, or had some other spyware secretly installed on your pc, then please consider yourself one very lucky man.

I hope for your sake your pc is safe as some viruses are designed to remain dormant until a certain event triggers it.
All you can do is scan your PC and I suggest you do download Malware Bytes and run it.
I have added a link below, or you can go directly to their site by copying and pasting this link. https://www.malwarebytes.org
Good luck, Meg

I'm as baffled as you, sir. I would not recommend anyone to sign up for this or anything that you haven't knowingly navigated to on your own.
