I am now cutting up tons of shirts the Bonnie Hunter way and boy can you get sick of the same fabric when you keep chasing down each little piece to get a square or strip out of it. Anyone want to swap 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 inch squares? I am also cutting 4, 6 and 10 inch squares. Some of these shirts are so big I can get a FQ from the back!

I have boxes and drawers full of small squares from doing what you are doing now! I'd sit in front of the tv with a small tv table in front of me and start cutting. I have 8 1/2" squares all the way down to 1 " squares. I wasted nothing! I donated a huge box of 8 1/2" squares to a lady in Alabama who made 10 quilts from it after the disaster down there. You never know when they'll come in handy and it's great that they are already pre sized when you need them!

I made a twin size quilt using plaid shirts that I purchased from a thrift store for $1.00 each. Then I tied it using the buttons from the shirts. The backing is a flannel sheet from the thrift store. It is one of my favorite quilts.

I think it was Bonnie Hunter that also did a quilt from plaid shirts for a baby quilt too, it was really cute and I love the idea of repurposing things for other uses. I had seen it on the quiltville website.

I am also cutting strips - 2.5 inches and smaller. I will be so sick of these soon!
