After careful consideration I have bought the Sizzix Big Shot. I am very happy with it. I can use Accuquilt dies with it and being able to use the Sizzix paper dies as well as fabric is a big plus, I think. I know the dies are a little pricey, but the Quilter Bees offer 30% off of the prices which makes them a little more reasonable. Missie at Skeldale House has applique designs for the accuquilt dies. I think she must have every one of them. I am working with Sunbonnet Sue & Sam.
Hobby Lobby has 40% off their dies and acessories so that was another plus. I am happy with my decision to buy Sizzix. Hope this helps anyone who is thinking of buying a die cutting tool.

One. So not that great for quilting, unless you cut a whole page of them!

posted this for graceandham, if you are referring to the Brother scan n cut you can cut a single item or as many as you wish, it has the feature of scanning in previous used material, paper or card (any media) you move what you now wish to cut to where you want to cut it , little wastage, no investment in dies. A fairly versatile machine!

I have the accuquilt go and the sizzix big shot. I use both to cut fabric. the down size is the price of the dies for accuquilt go and the cutting matts. you never see any going cheap here in the uk. on the other hand if you buy the sizzix original dies and the xcut these are great for cutting fabric. hope this helps. hugs xx

I recently bought the Sizzix Big Shot, and it helped me to finish my recent quilt so much quicker. I had to buy a couple if dies, one was to cut five inch squares, and it cut six layers at a time, another was for one and a half inch strips, eighteen inches long. What a time saver, and so much better than cutting with scissors ! Some dies were included with the Sizzix, which will be useful for card making. Wish I had bought it when I started the quilt, and not when it was almost finished !

I am really thinking of getting the Sizzix. I understand the 6 inch accuquilt dies can be used with it. Accuquilt does not accept the Sizzix dies.

I'm saving up for the Scan and Cut by Brother. It has a high start cost of $399 but you never need to buy patterns or dies.

Hi, make sure you get the right model as the cheaper model will not cut material.

Hi. I have the Accuquilt Go and I really like it. U can cut up to 6 layers of fabric at a time. The down side of this is that u have to buy all the dies.....which can be expensive!
I have also just recently bought the 'Scan and Cut' by Brother. This does not cost anything in software, dies etc. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to even try it out yet but I hope to soon!
Hope this helps.
