Hello.

Can anyone tell me how I can stitch out parts of an embroidery design????
I'm relatively new to me and very new to digitizing programs. For the beginning I am using sophiesew for testing out digitizing. But I have also the free version (where you can't save) of pe design next on my pc. In none of them I found a way to delete single colors or parts of the design. So how does this work??? I have seen several altered designs so far so it has to be possible somehow!
Thanks
Jessica

Have you tried myEditor from Wings Systems? It's a free editing program in which you can do many things, including deleting colors.

Welcome to cute and I hope you will love it here as much as the rest of us do. I also skip colours because I do not digitize but it is true that if you only stitch a small part and use the big hoop it will be a waste of stabilizer. Hope somebody with knowledge comes along soon to help you. Hugs.

Hi Jessica,
welcome to Cute! In PE Design, highlight the design and right click, there you will see several choices - change/convert to stitches will be there if the design hasn't been converted yet. Click this, if needed. Then right click again and you will see again some different choices, click on the one where you can seperate the stitches by color. With of the site, to the right, there is a bathis you can change the colors and stitch order, delete areas, etc.
I hope this helps, if you need more help or anthing, just let me know. I've also sent you a PM - look at the to of the site, on the right where it says inbox, this is where you can send Private Messages (PM's)

Thank you. For pe design it worked fine. But as I have only the trial I can't save. So does anyone know how to archieve this with sophiesew?

Welcome to Cute.
You can just miss out the colours you don't want when you stitch out the design!
I use Embird and it is easy to delete colours in a design in Editor. Perhaps someone who is familiar with Sopiesews will be along soon.

Thank you Sue - I did not know quite what Jessica meant.

I also thought about just skipping the colors while stitching. But then I have to use the big hoop, although the part I want to stitch is under 4 inches. So the positioning is more difficult and I have to use more stabilizer (and somehow I have the feeling that in the big hoop the fabric is rather loose than properly fixed in the middle parts)

Welcome Jessica. I am afraid that I do not digitize but I am sure that someone will be along to help. Just keep checking back on your post.
