I'm in need of a free conversion program that will convert vp3 to pes. None of the programs I have will convert the vp3 :( I have palette 8 (using data base), free wilcom and free pulse ambassador, and I'm also registered at embroidery designs.com which doesn't include vp3 in their limited free conversions... any other free ones out there??? TIA for any help, Ann

Embird will convert VP3 to any version of PES you might need.

sorry, hit the submit button before I wanted to.
Embird isn't free, but, you can download a free trial for 30 days......and it its very reasonable to buy. Plus it does a lot more than convert designs.

Thanks, I'll check out the free trial...I'll see if I have other vp3 files first...

It appears the Palatte 8 program does not support the .vp3 file format. However, the free Wilcom program does. Open the file in Wilcom and perform a "save as" to get your file in the .pes format (open desired .vp3 file, then click on File/Save as..., then in the Save as Type dropdown box select the Deco/Brother/BabyLock *.PES format. Then click to save as usual). Hope this helps.

By the way, I just received notice of the new upgrade for Wilcom Truesizer e3, so you may need to download that as well, if you are using an old version of Wilcom.

I have the old version (e2) and when I bring up the file name it says invalid file type...and no picture comes up in the box to the right, so I can't change to pes. Maybe the newer version would do it. Do you have the new e3 version? Thanks for trying to help!!

Just go to the Wilcom website and download the updated version ( e3 ) of TrueSizer - it is free.

Hmmm, if you have Palette 8 can't you open the VP3 file in Layout & Editing then just save it as a pes file?

Thank you, but it simply won't even 'see' it !

Sorry Ann I was assuming you have a programme on your embroidery machine that you can use. Love Chris

Thanks for all the pics. etc., but It's the free monthly (Jan.) design from pfaff thru my embroideries that would not stay in the cart...tried several times on different days, and then the last time, it was just a download at the bottom of the paragraph and only in vp3...no choice of other formats...and it didn't go through my embroideries site. I was able to get the husq. design to stay in the cart and for months have had to dl hus and change to pes as they must have converted to ver.9 or next. I do have a program to open rar files that I didn't think of, so perhaps I'll see if that will work...thanks again !

Well duh, the rar program just opens the folder, doesn't convert!

Hi Ann, I do this all the time. I'll put up instructions on how I do it. Love Chris

1. Select design format you want to download.
2. Cute Embroidery box opens up with where you can download from
(I use WinRar).
3. When you come to change the format use your drop down arrow on the right hand side and all the different formats will show - hit PES and it will ask you to save it, I then name it and voila! it is done.

Double click on the pictures to see a closer view.
