Did you ever do something like this? I was going to emb, something on the toe of these boots for Avery. and I did on one.Stitched perfectly. Will add link for free design,if I don't forget. If I do,scroll down,it will be there when I remember-LOL Anyway, the second one was stitching and machine sounded like it was twisting up so I stop it.My fleece was caught in the needle plate hole and I thought I was going to have to cut it to get it out.Well,I eventually got it out and took the plate off.I had been having trouble with my cutter, not wanting to cut my top thread. The thread was all wadded up around the knife so I cleaned it all out,put back together and decided to not use the designs on the boots.I thought it may look more like the booties, which they are, than the boot look, which I wanted. So the outside with the design, is now the inside linings. They fit perfectly over Avery's braces and I am tickled to death!Links are for patterns for them, other link is instructions how to sew and assemble and the one for the design. It is a pretty wheat design.click on plants at flipzooka, and there are 3 like this, that match.NOTICE when you go to the mae mae link,it will say error, but look at the headline and click on 'diy'-PATTERNS and it will take you to the page for Booties has different sizes from newborn to 5 years (Avery's 8) can print out or save in a pdf file ....Scroll down here for the freebie link.I will have to try and find it again and post it in another comment on this page.

I just love these and you did a great job Toogie. I would love to make these for the people in Hospice that are in wheel chair and have to have their legs up....the heels hurt them and I think I could add a little more padding on them...Hugs Joann

I just copied at 138%.I will sew me a pair soon and place in Community/Sewing, when I do. I enlarged to fit my 8 81/2 foot but I think it will have to be trimmed down around the sides from about the arch up toward the top, too wide.I will definately put shelf liner on mine because I do not want to fall.

toogie by toogie 09 Jan 2014

That is size 8 or 8 1/2-

You made quick work out of making another pair. With only part of the design stitched out it does look good and that way one can tell left from right and you were able to salvaged the boot. Do you think you cutting blade has gotten dull? Can you disengage it and clip the jump stitches by hand?

I realized you made two pairs. lol

toogie by toogie 09 Jan 2014

No,only one pair of brown,I wrote the outside with the design is now the INSIDE.The outer fabric and inside lining are all one piece. When I turned I just used the design part for my inner part.I can disengauge it,but I will try again before I do.

You must have a very busy life, you always have something new everyday. I wish I could do this. Maybe I can now as I just got a new craft room delivered today. It was my Christmas present. Lucky me! I don't have to pack up all my crafts for meal time now. Woo Hoo!
Kind regards

I am thinking about after sewing the bottom on,sewing it where the seam is on the outside of sole instead and then clipping the edge, like a fringed blanket.Would be small fringe tho and wouldn't have to worry about trash getting caught in it,she doesn't walk.Does that idea seem good or do you have a better one? You know tomorrow,I'll make another pair.

highlandermom by highlandermom 09 Jan 2014

I remember other day you said you had dried up on ideas. Just goes to show you just had a moment of it to you. You are very creative. I love what you have done here. Also know you got great idea with fringe so it don't get icky. For me I would like fringe like you have here or maybe 1/2 less not longer. Bet she loves them all.
